Back bends and beyond - with Sarah James

Heart opening back bends are a brilliant way to look after our spines, relieve tension and switch up perspective.

Over this 90-minute workshop we’ll explore moves to strengthen the core and back - both equally important to further your backbend practice - alongside the shoulders and hips, and use props in a variety of ways to find different ways to access shapes.

We’ll be playing around with plenty of heart opening poses including bridge to full wheel, dancers pose and mermaid with lots of options along the way to suit all bodies.

Fundamentals and fun in equal measure, you’ll leave knowing more about the benefits of back bending, how to warm up effectively, and tips to adapt your own practice to develop your back bends.

Tea and post-workshop snacks will be provided.

It is advisable to avoid eating a large meal at least two hours before the workshop
