Sunday 8th October; 4:00-6:00pm
Yin is a slow, meditative style of yoga where the, mainly floor based, poses are held for several minutes at a time. On a basic level, the stillness and longer holds offer the chance for increased body awareness, relaxation and a really good stretch! However, there are greater therapeutic benefits which can be unlocked. If yin is practised regularly with a deeper level of sensitivity, it can help unravel persistent tension, pain and / or support athletic recovery.
Therapeutic yin yoga is much less about making a 'correct' target shape and much more about finding the right shape for your body to explore in a particular moment. How far we can (or should go) into, and the kind of sensations we experience a yin pose vary widely from person to person. So how do we get the most from a yin pose or even know how to choose the right pose to begin with? Come along on the 8th of October to find out....
In the workshop you will:
Learn about the basic principles of yin yoga
Find out why and how to use props to support your body in yin poses
Explore how to select the right pose(s) to help your body
Design and practice your own 3 pose therapeutic yin sequence
Price: £32
*non-refundable
