With Sarah Layla Puello
September 15th, 3:00-5:00pm
She’s back! Former teacher at our studio, Sarah Leyla is back to offer a 2-hour extended Forrest Yoga class focused on Breath and Intention.
Forrest Yoga is a movement modality where conscious breath is used with each posture to develop awareness of the body, mind and spirit. The practice is slow and intentional, allowing time to listen to the body’s signals of ease, pleasure, and resilience. It incorporates long holds and core work to nurture inner and outer strength, and it works with intention to foster deeper connection with oneself.
If you have never tried a Forrest Yoga class, this is wonderful opportunity to try a new style of practice. If you previously enjoyed our Forrest Yoga classes at EBS, you are in for a treat: you’ll be able to revisit some of your favourite postures, powerful poses and delicious stretches.
What to Expect
Class will begin with learning or reviewing Ujjayi breath, a breath technique commonly used in many yoga practices. From there, as the class and postures unfold from seated to standing and finally reclined postures, you will be guided to breathe into different areas of the body, learning to guide each inhale and exhale to specific areas that crave space or stretch. By focusing your intent and breath, the class invites you to cultivate grounding and personal empowerment, feeling more present, alive and purposeful. At the end of the class, you will enjoy an extended final relaxation, and an opportunity to journal your reflections.
The class will be made accessible to complete beginners, with optional challenges for all yogis alike. Whether you're new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, this workshop will provide valuable insights and techniques to deepen your connection with your body and breath.
After the Session
At the end of the session, there will be time for journaling reflections and informal chat over a cup of tea. This reflective practice will help you integrate the experiences of the workshop, to solidify the insights gained and offering an opportunity to catch up with the teacher and the community.
