Frequently asked questions
What classes can I take at Every Body Studio?
-
Pilates: Pilates is a mat-based movement class. Breath, awareness and strength all come into play, often alongside a host of props from bands to pilates balls to activate different parts of the body. Movements are often repeated, so you have time to become familiar and adapt to suit you and connect to parts of the body with intention.
Foundation Pilates (all levels): A slower paced class to perfect the technique of Joseph Pilates and build the awareness within the body, to rehabilitate, rebalance, and change movement patterns. Great for seasoned practitioners and total beginners. The time allows us to delve into the method and hone in on perfecting technique that you might want to develop, or be practicing for the first time.
Dynamic Pilates (all levels): Pilates is a mat-based movement class. Dynamic Pilates is a more dynamic version of Pilates, where you can expect more challenges within this class. Breath, awareness and strength all come into play, often alongside a host of props from bands to pilates balls to activate different parts of the body. Movements are often repeated, so you have time to become familiar and adapt to suit you and connect to parts of the body with intention.
Advanced Dynamic Pilates: This is an amplified, fast paced, and strong class designed for those with a good awareness of the Pilates method. Experience a full body workout that elevates the intensity and effectiveness of classical Pilates exercises, further challenged with a deep focus on finessing the technique. There is little rest, transitions are just as much a part of the system.
-
Barre: No experience of ballet or dance needed, Barre is a movement practice that focuses on isometric movements – where you keep the rest of your body almost motionless and contract specific muscle groups. A fantastic way to strengthen the core and joints, through the class you’ll use the mat, props and the barre to strengthen the body and have a heap of fun along the way.

Beginners: A slower pace of class breaking down yoga poses as you find a gentle flow. This is a fantastic chance to move on the mat, whether you are new to practice or not. Through the session we’ll use the breath to move between shapes, always with options and variations to adapt the practice to best suit you.
A typical class will begin with breathwork (pranayama) and softer shapes, before moving into the flow-based heart of the class with flowing standing postures, and ending with stretches and relaxation.
Chair Yoga: Chair Yoga at Every Body is supportive, accessible movement designed to help you build strength, mobility and confidence in a way that feels good for your body. Using the chair for stability and support, this welcoming class is perfect for those returning to movement or anyone seeking a supported approach to yoga. Expect thoughtful guidance, plenty of options, and our signature non-judgmental atmosphere. Our chair yoga classes are held at our Botley studio which also has ramp access and a wheelchair-accessible toilet.
Hatha Flow: A traditional form of yoga, Hatha is a slower-paced class, offering space to focus on the breath by moving towards and dwelling in postures that little bit longer to settle the body and mind. Throughout the class, you'll build from the ground up, through shapes to generate warmth and to focus on the balance between movement and stillness – always with plenty of options along the way.
Strong Flow: A flowing class, Strong Flow blends together familiar aspects of a vinyasa yoga session with elements from other movement practices, including pilates and core, creating a more dynamic practice. Through the class we’ll use the breath to move between shapes, always with options and variations to adapt the practice to best suit you. Expect a chance to explore challenge and strength along the way.
Dynamic Vinyasa: A flowing class, incorporating breathwork (pranayama), playful transitions and relaxation. Through the class we’ll use the breath to move and to explore the journey between shapes as much as the postures themselves - always with options and variations to adapt the practice to best suit you. Dynamic vinyasa has the familiar structure of a vinyasa class, but incorporating further opportunities for challenge along the way.
Vinyasa: A flowing class, incorporating breathwork (pranayama), playful transitions and relaxation. Through the class we’ll use the breath to move between shapes, always with options and variations to adapt the practice to best suit you.
A typical class will begin with breathwork and softer shapes, before moving into the flow-based heart of the class with flowing standing postures, and ending with slower shapes and relaxation. All our vinyasa teachers bring their own style to this session, making it a great way to explore different forms of flowing practice.
Mandala Vinyasa yoga: A monthly, extended 75-minute session, Mandala Vinyasa is all about exploring transitions to travel in a circle on the mat – finding shapes to turn to the front, back and side to side. A yin sandwich, each session starts and ends with breathwork (pranayama) and longer-held poses to lead you in and out of the flow-based heart of the class. Each month's class is inspired by one of the four elements – earth, water, fire and air – which weaves into the shapes, sequence and breath work that form the flow.
Community Yoga Classes: These classes are taught by our teacher trainees and are usually in the Vinyasa or Hatha style.
Self-Practice Space: An opportunity to use the studio for your own practice. A teacher will be present, but the practice is self-led. Whether you want to slow down, flow, or meditate - you are welcome to use the space and our props to explore what you need. The practice will close with a group meditation.
Yoga Flow and Yin: A chance to blend movement on the route to longer-held shapes, our Flow & Yin class is a concoction of gentle shape shifting and breath. Yin offers a chance to explore the subtle body and by remaining in shapes for a longer period of time, provides space to reflect on sensation, feeling and breath. Using props, you'll spend time closer to the ground, to go deeper into the body and tissues in a safe and supported way.
Flow & Restore: Our Flow & Restore classes are all about embracing the power of slowing down and taking time to find ease. This session offers space, time and support to unwind and recharge. Starting with a slow flow, often remaining low on the mat, the majority of the class is spent in longer-held shapes using a variety of props - bolsters, blocks and blankets - to rest the body and mind.
Restorative Yoga: These classes are an invitation to slow down and settle deeply into rest. Designed to support both body and mind, this session begins with a slow flow, often remaining low on the mat, before offering longer-held, fully supported shapes using props like bolsters, blocks, and blankets. With an emphasis on comfort and stillness, our Restorative Yoga classes are all about embracing the power of slowing down and taking time to rest.
Rocket Yoga: Our Rocket yoga classes are a dynamic and fast-paced yoga class .This class follows a set sequence yet offers space to focus on the breath and the opportunity for challenge and playfulness. Arm balances and inversions are offered with variations to help meet you where you are on the day and to help you build confidence and strength in your daily practice. Rocket yoga is based around the structure and postures of the Rocket series 1&2, which in turn is based on a modification of the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga series…..if you are curious and ready to expand on your practice in a friendly environment, come along.
Every Body Ashtanga Yoga: Ashtanga yoga is a traditional dynamic yoga practice that links postures in a set sequence that remains the same each week, giving students the opportunity to build a strong foundation and familiarity. This class is an introduction to Ashtanga and is taught in an inclusive way where the postures are adapted to suit each individual, and you are guided by the teacher. At the core of this class is a focus on breath and inward connection to the practice.

Using the nurturing Birthlight method, these sessions bring women and birthing people together for gentle movement, connection, and support - a beautiful space to make friends and feel nourished. Our yoga uses easy-flowing postures to ease pregnancy aches, build strength, and help you prepare for birth and parenting. It’s a calm time to connect with your body and your growing baby, supporting a healthy, joyful pregnancy and smoother recovery.
